ouzo..more like "eww-zo"

thank god for internet cafes!

we are having soooo much fun--last night we sat at this outdoor cafe (they are everywhere) and ate gyros and drank wine and ouzo (greek liquor) -- it was so nice... and in the background is the Acropolis on top of a huge hill...lit up - overlooking the city - it was quite nice!

oh - a funny story about the gyro... i asked the guy what was in it.. and he told me (meat of choice, FRENCH FRIES (fried fries as they called it..hah), gyro sauce, tomato and onion. i asked if it came with cucumbers -- cause i know at most greek places ive been to cucumber is in everything. and the guy looked at me really funny and laughed and said "hah.. no no - that would NOT taste good" like i was ridiculous for asking... then i got the gyro... sure enoiugh - cucumbers. hahaha must have been some sort of language miscommunication - i wonder what he thought i was asking about.. haha

we are about to take the metro down to the port and catch a ferry to one of the greek islands -- we still arent even sure which ones we are gonna go to -- depends on the ferry schedule and if we can arrange to go to 3 then hop on over to turkey. at the cafe we are at now - emily cant get her pictures to load -- so hopefully more pics later. much love to you all

Hahaha. That's a great gyro story. I'm glad you followed my gyro suggestion, although I'm pretty sure you got kicked off the internet before you read what I had typed.

Anyhoo...how funny.

Loved the pics from yesterday...or day before..I can't keep my days straight anymore.

How long will y'all be in Turkey? You girls are craaaazy! (:

Hey Brooke (and Emily)
Your mom shared your blogsite with me. Hope it's okay if I check in from time to time. The pics are fabulous, like having a front row seat.
I just hung up from talking with her. While we were on the phone, I pulled up your blog and pics, and she narrated your trip so far. Hope you both have the time of your life!
Have fun, and stay safe (AND CALL YOUR MOTHER...at least at regular intervals! LOL :)
